A Great Sunday in Heavenly Beverley.

Trying to sell the House that Rocks is stressful. I am conscious of the house's presentation - keeping it clean and tidy, but not sterile; decluttering to some degree, but also keeping it as a home; trying to keep that doggy odour to a respectable level, whilst showing this is an excellent property for kids and animals.

Running the East End Gallery can also be stressful. How to remain attentive to our visitors but not hover; give enough information but not gabble; encourage a sale without bulldozing a potential customer.

Doing both is occasionally doing my head in. But not today. We had an excellent day in the Gallery with enthusiastic and appreciative visitors and a few sales, with plenty of interest in our larger artworks. Plus a couple whom I met on Vincent Street. They lunched at the Red Vault on my recommendation, then returned to the Gallery and came to view the House that Rocks.

They loved the house. From Serpentine, he is on the verge of retirement and they hope to move somewhere quiet that they can leave from time to time to travel. Our home fitted the bill. She kept exclaiming at the quiet, the peace, the space and the location.

I answered all their questions honestly. I am not biassed. We live in a great community, with low crime, residents who care about each other and a bopping main street (except on Sunday afternoons). All within an hour of Midland and Armadale. We have doctors, a hospital, a great school, a vast array of social and sporting events and the best Agricultural Show on the planet. I told you I wasn't biassed!

The piece de resistance was showing them the "before" photos of our home. They couldn't believe the renovations and changes. We spent an hour there before we all retired back to the East End Gallery. Over coffee, I gave them tourism information and a copy of "The Beverley Blarney" and the weekly bulletin. They were entranced. When they sell their house, I am sure they'll be back.

So, the House that Rocks is out there. We have had a successful Home Open and look forward to the next one. We will continue to open the house on weekends and by appointment. Check us out on the internet!
